Work on Infrastructure that Actually Gets Built

We work at the intersection of energy, infrastructure, and technology — solving real constraints, not theoretical problems.

How We Work on Complex Infrastructure Challenges

We work on complex, real-world infrastructure challenges where clarity, ownership, and collaboration matter. These principles define how we operate as a team and how we approach every project.

Focus on real impact

“Digital infrastructure fails from energy misalignment, not tech. At Krios, we’re building the next generation by syncing the two.”

Open Roles

We are looking for people who want to work on complex, system-level challenges across infrastructure and energy.

Role description:

We are seeking a Datacenter Energy Director / Energy & Grids Principal to play a pivotal role in shaping how large-scale data centers integrate with Europe’s power systems. This is a senior, highly visible role for someone who wants to define the energy strategy of a next-generation data center platform.

You will act as Krios’ trusted technical authority in grid and energy matters—working at the intersection of transmission and distribution networks, data center development, commercial strategy, and energy policy. Your work will directly influence site strategy, speed to market, project economics, and long-term sustainability.

If you are motivated by complexity, impact, and the opportunity to help reshape how digital infrastructure is delivered and better integrated with the grid, this role offers a rare combination of technical depth and strategic influence.

Working at Krios Infrastructure

At Krios, you will find a high-trust, low-ego environment where expertise is valued and ideas travel fast. We believe diverse perspectives create stronger outcomes, and we are committed to building balanced, inclusive teams.

This role offers significant visibility and influence, with real ownership of how Krios’ energy strategy evolves as we scale across Europe. If you want to help define the future of energy-enabled digital infrastructure—and do it alongside driven, experienced peers—we would love to hear from you.

What you will do:

Lead Energy & Grid Strategy

Translate complex grid integration requirements into clear, actionable site selection and connection strategies that enable faster, smarter investment decisions.

  • Translate complex grid integration requirements into clear, actionable site selection and connection strategies that enable faster, smarter investment decisions
  • Lead front-end technical due diligence for prospective data center sites, with a strong focus on transmission availability, reliability, and N-1 / N-1-1 contingency performance
  • Support identification of grid capacity avaialbility and grid needs for large loads
  • Shape early-stage power infrastructure designs to streamline permitting, reduce risk, and accelerate delivery timelines

Be the Technical Anchor for Commercial Execution

  • Provide technical leadership to commercial teams in utility negotiations, energy agreements, and grid-related deal structuring
  • Develop and implement innovative technical and commercial solutions that improve timelines, optimize capex, increase scalability, and support grid needs—such as batteries, flexibility services, cable pooling, and behind-the-meter generation
  • Define strategies for long-lead electrical infrastructure (transformers, HV cables, reactive power equipment) to secure supply, control cost, and de-risk schedules

Build Trusted Utility Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with TSOs and DSOs across Europe, positioning Krios as a credible, value-adding partner
  • Act as the primary technical interface with system operators throughout the full data center development lifecycle, ensuring alignment on grid integration, compliance, and capacity delivery
  • Proactively resolve complex grid access, connection, and reliability challenges to unlock capacity and reduce development risk

Drive Innovation and Insight

  • Engage with BESS developers, OEMs, and specialist partners to design and deploy flexibility solutions that support both grid operators and data center delivery
  • Build and manage a high-quality network of external technical consultants to extend Krios’ capabilities where needed
  • Monitor and influence energy policy and regulatory developments, identifying opportunities for innovative commercial structures that benefit projects and local communities alike

Role requirements:

  • 10–15 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector, ideally within or closely with a transmission system operator; data center experience and European grid modelling is a strong advantage
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, business, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of high-voltage transmission and distribution networks and hands-on experience working with TSOs and/or DSOs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical complexity into clear strategic and commercial insights
  • A high level of ownership and autonomy, combined with a pragmatic, innovative mindset
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
